Puredyne/Burn CDs and DVDs

Burn CDs and DVDs edit

Burning CDs and DVDs on pure:dyne is very simple. In this small tutorial we'll explain how to use Brasero.

Brasero allows you to create audio and data CD/DVDs, copy CD/DVDs, and burn an existing CD/DVD image to disc. When you start the application, you can choose on of these 4 options.

Audio and Data CD/DVD edit

First you need to put an empty, writable CD/DVD in your CD/DVD drive.

To add files to your project, use the browser panel within brasero. Simply browse for the files you want to include and either double click, or drag them from the browser panel to the project window on the right.

When you start adding files to your project, the bar at the bottom of Brasero indicates how much space your files take up (or time, in the case of an audio CD/DVD). When your project gets too big, the end of the green bar turns red and you receive a warning. To remove files, click and drag them out of the brasero window and release your mouse button. Your cursor will change into a trashcan and the file has been removed.

When you are finished adding files or music to your project, click on the burn button. In the disc burning setup you can select your CD/DVD writer and give your project a title. To finally start the burning process, click on burn.

If the burn button is not available, this means something is wrong. Perhaps the CD or DVD you inserted in your drive is not writable or has already got data on it. Check the disc and try again.

Disc Copy edit

To copy a CD/DVD, insert the CD/DVD you want to copy into your disc drive. Start Brasero and select Disc Copy. When you click Copy, the disc you inserted will be copied to a disc image. After this is done, Brasero will prompt you to insert the empty CD/DVD (your disc drive will eject the original CD/DVD). Insert the emtpy CD/DVD and Brasero will start burning the copied disc image to the empty CD/DVD.

If the burning does not start automatically, and you get an error, the CD/DVD you inserted is probably not writable.

Disc Image edit

Insert an empty CD/DVD into your disc drive. After starting Brasero, choose Burn image. In the Image burning setup, click on path and select the puredyne iso file. After that press Burn.

If the burn button is not available, this means something is wrong. Perhaps the CD or DVD you inserted in your drive is not writable or has already got data on it. Check the disc and try again.
