Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney/Episode 5: Rise from the Ashes

The first thing you see is a fly-through of the city in the middle of a thunderstorm. You then see the silhouette of someone about to stab. The figure freezes and the form splits into two. The two figures disappear through different windows. You then see a few random shots: a knife flying, a pot breaking, a strange-looking doll, and finally the silhouette of a woman stabbing someone.

This episode is not in the original Game Boy Advance version. You'll be investigating a murder with the new features the Nintendo DS has to offer, with the help of a replacement assistant, whose sister is the prime suspect in the murder. Your new assistant will show you "scientific" ways to investigate, such as fingerprinting and blood testing. Everything can be done with the touch screen and the microphone.

Defendant

edit

Lana Skye

Lana Skye is the district Chief Prosecutor and the older sister of Ema Skye. She admits her guilt to Phoenix right from the start of the case. Proving Lana's innocence becomes hard work when she's working against you. She has a very cold attitude, but she hasn't always been that way. What happened to her?

edit

Bruce Goodman

A detective from the Police Department. He was investigating something before he was murdered, but what was it?

Prosecution Lawyer

edit

Miles Edgeworth

Edgeworth is Phoenix’s rival. He became a prosecutor at the age of 20. He has a profound hatred for crime and criminals. Lana Skye was his superior. There are rumors flying around that he had forged evidence to win many of his cases, and would do anything for a Guilty verdict.

Witness

edit

Angel Starr

A lunch saleswoman whose Wonderful looks and great personality can easily atract a man. She sells lunches for a living, especially to her "boyfriends". She has a connection to Lana Skye. She is also known as the "Cough-up Queen".

Other characters

edit

Ema Skye

Lana Skye's little sister, who has a great interest in forensic science. She will be taking Maya Fey's place as your assistant for this case.

Detective Dick Gumshoe

Gumshoe is absent-minded and can be short-tempered at times. Mostly he is a friendly and helpful character. He has great respect for Miles Edgeworth.

Damon Gant

The District Chief of Police himself. Gant is quite a yes man, and would even give 50 bucks to the next person who asks. He likes to play the organ and go swimming.

Jake Marshall

A wild west themed patrolman, or sheriff as he calls himself. He is calm and cares for his three cacti: Billy, Bogey, and Marylin. He really likes steak lunches.

Mike Meekins

A hyperactive and clumsy police officer, who is always prepared — perhaps too prepared. He works at the Police Station and, despite his awkward nature, always seems to think the right way.

Neil Marshall

A deceased prosecutor and brother of Jake Marshall.

Joe Darke

A serial killer who was executed for his actions.
