Philosophy of Religion/Sin and salvation

Salvation is a concept focused on destination after death the most typically of which being heaven. In the context of Christianity Salvation is a state a person achieves that protects them from the consequences of sin. Salvation in the context of traditional Christianity isn't a works based system meaning actions performed have no value on the salvation of a person. Rather Christianity proposes that a debt is to be paid for sin. That debt being one that the sinner should have to pay but doesn't due to the redemptive nature of Christ. The debt is paid for by the work Jesus the son of God performed on the cross.

The philosophy of Christianity asserts that justice is a necessary cosmic component of a truly "good" God. How is Hell a "Just" punishment for sin. Commonly it is asserted that so vast a punishment should not be given for so minor a crime. Everyone may be "sinners" but why does someone need to spend eternity for minor sins. Imagine three scenarios. In one you kill a cockroach. Nothing happens to you. In another you kill a homeless man. You receive several years in prison. In another you kill the president of the United states. You receive the death penalty. In each scenario you killed something but the punishment is different. What changed? Status is the only thing that changed in each scenario. Now knowing that sins are committed against God, who is in religion one with the most high status what would the punishment have to be.

Calvinism - Arminianism

Are the saved chosen before they are saved. Calvinists assert under the teachings of John Calvin that all of Gods saved are predestined or determined to go to heaven or hell before birth and nothing can change a persons salvation during life. The basis of this belief is the question of whether or not choosing to accept christ is in of itself a "work". Since salvation is "Not a matter of works lest any man should boast". (Ephesians 2:9)

With the doctrine of original sin in place, where will children who sin by the act of being born go in death.
