Nineteen Eighty-Four/Part 1

In part one, we are introduced to the bleak world of Winston Smith, an Outer Party member of Ingsoc living in London. Winston has committed Thoughtcrime by writing in a diary. He is curious about two people -- the first being a dark-haired girl who's name we still do not know, and an Inner Party member known as O'Brien.
