This book is intended as a compendium to the Movie Making Manual, or a ‘Volume 2’ which addresses the specific needs and concerns of Digital Video Production in contrast to using film as a recording medium. Digital Video uses the common abbreviation of DV, and this book will use DV and DVP (Digital Video Production) frequently. Many of the concepts and techniques used for creating moving images using film is the same or similar as when using DV, however many tools and techniques used for each medium are specific to that application. This book concentrates specifically on video production techniques concentrating on digital video rather than analog since analog is all but an obsolete technology. This book also assumes the reader is at least somewhat proficient with the basic terminology of video production and computer use so not every little thing will be spelled out, however there is an appendix with abbreviations, definitions, and terms to assist as much as possible.
