MeGUI/Tools/One Click Encoder

(Redirected from MeGUI/One Click Encoder)

The One Click Encoder aims to allow a single job configuration in one step, followed by a completed automated encode. It currently only works with MPEG-2 sources (in particular, DVDs).

Basic IO

edit

Input/Output

edit
  • Input file: Location of the input file. Press the [...] button to change this.
  • Output file: Location of the output file. Press the [...] button to change this. Note that the extension is determined by the filetype combo-box which is only available in the advanced options.

Audio

edit
  • Track 1/Track 2: These comboboxes allow you to select the audio track(s) which will be used. The [X] button can be used to deselect the relevant audio track.

Target

edit
  • Playback method: This is another term for a One click profile, which contains the settings for a one click encode. You can load the settings of a given profile into this window by selecting the profile name here.
  • Filesize: The target filesize to be achieved. The video bitrate will be adjusted to reach this target. If you don't want any bitrate adjustment, choose 'Don't care' here.

Miscellaneous

edit
  • Shutdown after encoding: Checking this enables shutdown after encoding has finished
  • Show advanced options: Checking this makes the Advanced Config and Encoder Config tabs visible.
  • Go!: Creates the jobs and closes the window.

Advanced Config

edit

Extra IO

edit
  • Working Directory: This is the directory where all the temporary files will go during the encoding stage. Use the [...] button to change it. Changing this can also change the output file location, unless you have already specified your own value for that.
  • Chapter file: This allows you to specify the chapter file which will be muxed in.
  • Project name: This name determines the filename stem of all the generated files.

AviSynth setup

edit
  • Output resolution: Determines the maximum horizontal resolution of the encoded file. The resolution it actually chooses will be the minimum of this and the input resolution, and could also be adjusted according to the given AVC Level
  • AR: Lets you set the DAR of your video. MeGUI generally can autodetect this, so you can ignore this most of the time.
  • Signal AR: This causes an anamorphic encode
  • AVS profile: Lets you select the AviSynth profile to use when generating the script
  • Automatic deinterlacing: Checking this means MeGUI will use its interlace detection algorithm to work out the best deinterlacer (if any) for your video. This is generally a good idea to use.

Video

edit

This is identical to the behaviour of the main window.

Audio

edit
  • Track 1 or 2: These checkboxes allow you to choose which track you are configuring, just like the main window.
  • External input: If you check this, then you are able to choose an external audio input file to encode, instead of one demuxed from your MPEG-2 input file.
  • Keep original track: This disables audio encoding for this track, and instead muxes the original audio file straight into the final file.
  • The rest of the options here work just the same way as the main window.

Miscellanous

edit
  • Container format: Lets you choose the muxed container format. The options here are determined by mux path finding.
  • Split size: Lets you choose the splitting on the final file.
