Knots/Loop knots/Water bowline

The water bowline is a variation on the bowline. It is less likely to jam or slip and can be used in extreme conditions, such as in wet environments, hence the name. There are more turns near the loop end, which makes more friction, which leads to less tension on the core of the knot.

How to tie the water bowline

• 
  Make the first overhand loop
• 
  Make the second overhand loop
• 
  Complete the knot in the manner of the bowline (around the standing part and back down through the loops)
