Upright frank with simulated perforation outer border and straight line inner border.
Six-pointed star at center with value figure at bottom center.
One machine only, N1, used by the Bank of Ethiopia.

Horizontal frank with simulated perforation border at top, bottom and right side.
“POST/ PAID” below crown at center.
Date figures raised in relation to value figures.

Similar to Type 2 but “BIRR/ POSTPAID” below circular logo at center.

although with large stretch of straight line across bottom.
