Paper 1

For the IB history course, one must study in depth, one prescribed subject for paper 1. The choice of prescribed subject will have to be based on several factors, including student interest, available resources, and the selected paper 2 topics and higher level option. Some may base their choice on the need to complement other papers, while others may choose the subject to extend student knowledge. The study of history does not fit neatly into watertight compartments, and the three IB external components will all help to produce a wider and deeper historical understanding, and international outlook.
