Georgia Water/External Links/People/Instructions

Instructions for adding your name to the Georgia Water/External Links/People list

1. (Optional) Print these instructions.
2. Copy the example code in the blue box below. You'll need this for Step 7.
3. Go to the Sandbox page (by clicking on the word Sandbox here)
4. Type your name in the Sandbox edit box, enclosed in double brackets: [[George P. Burdell]]
5. At bottom of the Sandbox page, click on the button "Show preview"
6. On the Preview page, make sure that your name shows up in red letters.
   (If not, then you needed to include the double brackets around your name in Step 4.)
   Click on your name (shown in red letters). A new blank page will appear for you to edit.
7. Paste the example code (copied in Step 2) for George P. Burdell into your blank page.
8. Replace all of George's information in the code with your own information.
9. For the last line of code, please replace ResearchX with one of the following terms for your water related work
   

• Monitoring
• Regulatory (permitting)
• Planning
• Management
• Engineering
• Law
• Research
• Education
• Water Supply (municipal or industrial utility)
• Wastewater (municipal or industrial utility)
• Resource User (a water user such as agribusiness, recreation group)
• Advocacy
• News (journalists, newsletter providers)
• Other

1. For the two last lines of code, please replace USA-Georgia with your own country and province/state.
2. At the bottom of your new page, click on the button "Show preview"
3. If your new page looks OK, then click on the button "Save page"
4. Use the Back button (at top of screen) to go back to the alphabetical list of names.
   Check to make sure that your name now appears in the Directory.

Instructions for editing your material for the Georgia Water/External Links/People list

1. On the alphabetical directory, click on your name.
   A page with your name at top should appear.
2. (Optional) Consider creating a user account for yourself, with your own ID and password.
   Using your account ID provides additional editing features, such as the "Watch this page" function.
3. At top of your page, click on tab "edit this page"
   (or you may click on the "edit" button for an individual subsection).
4. Make the changes to your material.
   
5. (Optional) Add a category code at bottom of your page to show your field of work.
   As the last line of code on your page, please add the code in the blue box below, replacing FieldX with one of the following terms for your water related work
