editWhen writing a computer program, it is very easy to make mistakes. Accidental coding mistakes that you make which adversely effect the functionality of your program are called bugs. When creating software, one of your goals is to minimise the number of errors or bugs in your program. The process of checking your code for errors is called debugging.
