First Aid/Mental Health Emergency
A mental health emergency (or 'crisis'), is a form of medical emergency in which the mental state or mental capacity of a patient is adversely compromised or impaired compared to that considered normal.
Causes
editThe causes and triggers of a 'Crisis' can be complex, and highly subjective to the individual patient.
Whilst a 'crisis' can be triggered by physical injury, for example shock or brain injury, 'Crisis' can present itself independently.
Certain forms of Mental Health crisis can also be triggered as a reaction to certain forms of drug reaction or poisoning.
