OSPF(Open Shortest Path First)

edit

OSPF (Open Shortest Path First) is a preference to RIP (Routing Information Protocol) and they are used in autonomous system networks. RIP is an older routing protocol which is installed in many today's corporate network.

While using OSPF if a host detects any change in the network then that host immediately multicasts the information to all the host connected in the network so that they have the same routing table information. The main difference between the RIP and OSPF is that in case of RIP the whole routing table is multicasted to all the host but in case of OSPF only the change in the routing table is multicasted to affected connected routers that are running OSPF.

More information will be added later.
