Biblioþeke/Alde Gekyþnes
The Old Testament (Alde Gekyþnes) is the first part of the Christian Bible, also known as the Tanakh, or the Hebrew Bible. It contains 39 books in the Hebrew canon, and in the Protestant canon. The Catholic Bible adds several books, called the Apocrypha (to Protestants), which were never part of the Hebrew canon, and St. Jerome's introduction to them indicated their doubtful status.
