Behold the Man

Line 5 −       and the purple robe.                          And [Pilatus] said to them:          Behold the man.

Notice the superlineation of line 4 IHS (Latinized Greek letters) is not a line as the first and primary hand in the main work, but something of an umlaut by the secondary hand (ca. 10th century) and accidentally or on purpose the two dots represent the two missing letters "su" in the Latin word Iesus. The continuation of a form of the written abbreviated sacred name or nomina sacra from Hebrew or Aramaic traditions of the unpronounceable name of God (DS or DEO in Latin) was an early trademark of Christianity.
