If an English word has a silent letter, that letter does not count. Think about the sound, not the English spelling when doing this exercise.

  • د is used to write the "d"-"data,dog"
  • ذ is used to write the "dh" sound such as the "th" in "this", "there", and "bathe"
  • ث is used to write "th"-"think, bath"
  • ر is used to write the "r" sound, the Arabic sound is different though (it is a "rolled r" sound).
  • ز is used to write the "z" sound-"zebra, zoo,oz"
  • ف is used to write "f"-"fate"
  • ب is used to write "b"-"break,cab"
