Annotations to James Joyce's Ulysses/Eumaeus/580

Annotations edit

post mortem child      Post mortem is Latin for after death. Bloom is using the phrase attributively to describe a child born after the death of its father; in this case, of course, it is an inappropriate description, as Murphy is still alive.
