Wiki Assignment #1: Educational Project edit

As this is just a fun anything goes ice breaker task, and as a keen moviegoer I thought I would discuss about one film that has me bursting with excitement. That is the upcoming installment to the X-Men film franchise: Deadpool. The reason I'm particularly itching to see this is from watching the trailer you can see that the movie breaks away from the standard superhero movie mold, and gives us a peak at this R rated comedy/action - which will include the title character breaking the fourth wall - something that has never been before in this genre and as fans of the comics will know, is a major aspect to Deadpool's character and something that will be enticing to see on the silver screen.

On a more critical note, I am interested to see how this change in style will fit in with the rest of the X-Men universe as the films up until this point have followed a serious tone with real life problems such as segregation, discrimination and terrorism being explored. Deadpool however, knows that he is in a comic book film universe and is set to openly reference this fact in the new film. I personally feel that this is a fresh new way to rejuvenate the series adding a little light heartedness into a universe where the world is going to end every time a new big bad comes along unless the protagonists act in their heroic fashion to save the day and can add an extra dynamic to move the franchise further into the future in a new direction.

Marker’s Comment edit

@Calgal5596:: This is rather descriptive and quite bloggy - does not follow the idea that you need to be developing and discussing with others, ideas associated with book project work and the themes and concerns of the module.
In addition, important note: you need to move these exercises (and my comments here!) wholesale to your user discussion page please! Otherwise, you will not get the marks you need to succeed (i.e. follow the brief) likewise...

RE: Comments on others’ work edit

These are absent. You have not adhered to the brief. Remember that your comments on other people's work is weighted as heavily as your own post when it comes to grades. Not completing this part of the exercise means that, effectively you are halving your mark. GregXenon01 (discusscontribs) 16:40, 26 February 2016 (UTC)

Comments edit

I am glad to be commenting on this article. I hope that by now you have had the chance to see the film. I can say that I thoroughly enjoyed it and that it was exactly what I thought it would be- a fun movie about a hilarious and unique character. I thought first-time director Tim Miller did a very good job. He and Ryan Reynolds stayed very true to the character of Deadpool. The dialogue was well written and his fourth wall breaks were finely constructed. It certainly didn't deal with any super deep issues as past X-Men films have but I don't think it really needed to. It got the job done and was a hilarious ride. The end credits scene is "choice" and a sequel is already in the works. I am excited.Stafoya (discusscontribs) 11:32, 19 February 2016 (UTC)
