In Solresol, a word can be a noun, a verb, an adjective, or an adverb. Since figuring out all this from contact would be frustrating, the inventor of Solresol, François Sudre, made a way to distinguish the forms of a word. The placement of emphasis or stress on a certain syllable would make it one part of speech. In the case of nouns, the stress is on the first syllable

However, since there isn't a regulating body of Solresol, no official way to show this stress has been established. However, one way has been widely used. In this system, a circumflex (ˆ) would be placed above the vowel of the syllable that has the emphasis.

With this in mind, let's see some examples with some basic Solresol nouns.
