Unlike today's Mongolic languages, there are no /p/, /v/ and /š/ sounds in Proto-Mongolic. However, /p/ is available in older Proto-Para-Mongolic configurations. The /p/ phoneme has left its place to other sounds in Proto-Mongolic.
