  • Tajikistan was a region of the former Soviet Union which became independent in 1991. Meter stamps with former Soviet Union markings (“CCCP”, hammer and sickle logo, etc) continued to be used after independence. Although it is probable meter stamps inscribed Tadzhikistan are in use, examples are not known to us.
