Macau edit

  • Macau is a small, former Portuguese colony (six square miles) located on an island off the southwest coast of China. Although a twin to Hong Kong in both geographical and political relations to the rest of China (a special administration region), it is far smaller in size and economic strength.
  • Postage meters were first introduced in 1973.
  • All stamps have “MACAU” in the frank.
  • The stamps are grouped according to appearance:
A - Upright frank with simulated perforation border
B - Square or horizontal frank with straight line border
C - Frank with tower of General Post Office
PO - Stamps from machines in Post Offices
