JerseyEdit

  • A dependency of Great Britain, Jersey’s own meter stamps did not appear until 1969. Before that date British stamps with “JERSEY/ CHANNEL ISLANDS” (or “CI”) in the town mark were used.
  • All stamps contain “JERSEY” in the frank.
  • The stamps are grouped according to appearance:
A - “JERSEY” below value figures
B - “JERSEY” above value figures
PO - Special stamp generated only in Post Offices

NOTE: Catalog values are not given for the meter stamps of Jersey because no market appears to exist for them. Collectors should be aware that examples in Sterling currency (£sd) are much scarcer than decimal stamps.
