Czech RepublicEdit

The first meter was used in 1993 after the breakup of Czechoslovakia. All stamps show “CESKA REPUBLIKA” in the frank. For issues before 1993 see CZECHOSLOVAKIA.
The stamps are grouped according to usage:
A. Franks with simulated perforation outer frames
B. Franks without outer frames
PO. Stamps generated only by Post Office machines



GROUP A: Stamps for general commercial usageEdit

All have simulated-perforation outer border, straight-line inner border, country name in panel at top, and post horn at bottom.

Sub-group AA: Mechanical (non-digital) stampsEdit




AA1. Postalia “D3” (MV).

Frame is filled in between inner and outer border lines.
Frank width variable from 26 to 29 mm. Frank frame thickness also variable.
Value figures thin and narrow.
Date figures 2, 2½ or 3 mm tall, with or without stops. If with stops, the one between M and Y is closer to the Y.

V/F:  0000  00.00  00.0o  000.oo  000000



AA2. Francotyp-Postalia “EFS3000/NEF300” (MV).

As Type A2 but inner and outer border lines are not filled in.
Value figures thin and narrow.
Date figures 3 mm tall, with stops. The stop between M and Y is always closer to the M.
TM: DC (found with stars or identification number at bottom)

AA3. Francotyp “C” (MV).

As Czechoslovakia Type B3 but with new country inscription.
Wide spacing between TM and frank.
Frank variable in width from 28 to 32 mm.

AA4. Hasler “Mailmaster” (MV).

Similar to Type A1 (frame lines filled in) but with larger value figures.
Frank width variable from 26 to 28 mm.
Date with stops after D and between M and Y.

AA5. Frama “M/E” (MV).

Value figures large and thick.
Country inscription in top panel variable in size.

AA6. Frama “EPS” (MV).

Similar to Type A2 but date without stops.
A. Nearly square frank, 27 x 29/30 mm
B. Frank noticeably taller than wide, 25 x 30 mm

NOTE: Sub-type B appears to be from the Frama EPS machine but this may be a misidentification.








AA7. Pitney Bowes-GB "6900" (MV).

Smaller frank with relatively small value figures.
Frank variable in width. Post horn is tiny.
A. Short letters in top panel
B. Letters in top panel are taller
C. As B but frank is much larger

AA8. Pitney Bowes-GB “A900” (MV).

Frank considerably wider than tall.
Line under "CESKA REPUBLIKA".

Similar to Type A7 but country name at top without panel line.
The outer frame consists of two thin lines rather than one thick one.

Frank nearly square 25 x 26.5 mm.
Both date and value figures widely spaced.

Sub-group AB: Digital stampsEdit




AB1. Francotyp-Postalia “T1000” (digital).

Printed in shiny, cherry red through a mylar ribbon.
Value figures narrow but somewhat thick.

AB2. Francotyp-Postalia (digital).

Nearly square frank, 27 x 29 mm.
Relatively thin frame line with large points between the simulated perforations.
Date figures widely spaced.

AB3. Pitney Bowes ”EasyMail” (digital).

Wide frank, 32 x 24 mm.
Date figures with stops but tight spacing.

 (The EasyMail model did not normally print value figures like this.)



AB4. Frama “Sensonic” (digital).

"CESKA REPUBLIKA" variable in size
Very tall value figures.
A. Upright frank, 24 x 29 mm
B. Square frank, 24 x 24 mm

AB5. Neopost “SM26” (digital).

Fairly small frank slightly taller than wide, 24 x 26 mm.
Lettering in top panel is quite small with blank space at either side of text.
Value figures quite narrow.

AB6. Neopost (digital).

Small, nearly square frank,, 24½ x 24 mm.
Text in top panel is much closer to bottom than to top.
Post horn at bottom is small

AB7. Neopost (digital).

As Type AB6 but the post horn at bottom is larger.
The date figures are also larger.
The decimal in the value figures is smaller and barely displaces the adjacent figures.

AB8. Unidentified, probably Neopost (digital).

As Type AB7 but the value figures are not as tall.
The date figures are more widely spaced than with AB7.

AB9. Unidentified, probably Neopost (digital).

As Type AB8 but the value figures are slightly thicker and more narrowly spaced.
Identification number with "#" prefix reads up left of the town mark.
A. The decimal in the value figures is even with the bottom of the numbers
B. Value figures slightly larger, with decimal below the bottom of the numbers

GROUP B: Stamps without outer framesEdit




B1. Neopost "IS-480" (digital), 2014.

At top: posthorn logo above the date, "Česká pošta", value figures.
Frank with horizontal 2D barcode at lower left.
Meter number above barcode.
A. Private/commercial use stamp, M# with "L87" prefix
B'. Post Office stamp, M# with "L97" prefix
Town identification at right of barcode.
V/F:  000.00

NOTE: The code "01" appearing below the value figures in the Post Office stamp (B1B) indicates use on bulk mail.

PO1. Vývojářské centrum České pošty s.p. - OZ VAKUS (The Czech Post Research Center, State Enterprise - OZ VAKUS) "APost" (digital).

Digital stamp printed on a self-adhesive label 41 x 68 mm.
Label has blue outer border, an underprint of diagonal yellow text, a rectangle for the registration number, and an inner frank in blue with country name at top.
Point-of-sale data printed digitally in black: registration number in box at center left (or string of asterisks if usage is not registered), date, ID number, weight, and postage value.
A. Town identification preprinted at top left
B. Town identification printed digitally with point-of-sale data

PO2. Vývojářské centrum České pošty s.p. - OZ VAKUS (The Czech Post Research Center, State Enterprise - OZ VAKUS) "APost (second version)" (digital).

As Type PO1 but shorter label, 29/30 x 68 mm.
The inner frank containing the country name and value figures is red rather than blue.
The town identification is always pre-printed.
A. Yellow underprint somewhat heavy and uniform throughout the label
B. Yellow underprint is light and is missing or much lighter inside the registration box and the inner frank

PO3. Vývojářské centrum České pošty s.p. - OZ VAKUS (The Czech Post Research Center, State Enterprise - OZ VAKUS) "APost (third version)" (digital).

Very similar to Type PO2 but the red-outlined inner box at left is wider and contains all the point-of-sale data except the value figures.
