Description
Afrikaans: 'n Vereenvoudigde grafiek van die migrasies van koning Mzilikazi van die Khoemalostam. In 1823 vertrek hy uit Zoeloeland na die nabye van hedendaagse Groblersdal, waar hy die stat ekoePhoemoeleni (Plek-van-rus) vestig, voor hy na die Vaalrivier uitwyk. Teen 1825 het hy weswaarts na die Apiesrivier getrek waar hy die Koengwini-vesting aanlê, benewens emHlahlandlela- en Dinaneni- aan die Krokodilrivier. In 1832 word die Hoeroetsje-hoofstad Mosega (d.i. Motsenjateng) ingeneem wat sy suidelike vesting word, benewens 'n vesting by Tsjwenjane. Die omvangryke koningstat eGabeni (d.i. Kapain, Kapajien of Kopanjeng) word 45 myl noord van Mosega aan die Maricorivier aangelê. Op 17-Jan-1837 word eers Mosega deur die strafkommando van Potgieter en Maritz vernietig, gevolg deur 'n stryd van 9 dae vanaf 04-Nov-37 waarin eGabeni deur Potgieter en Uys vernietig word. Die Maricogebied word ontruim via die Dwarsbergpasse, en in 1838 trek sowat 15,000 Matabele oor die Limpoporivier.
