Français : Ce morceau d'argile provient du laboratoire souterrain de Bure, à près de 500 mètres de profondeur, construit par l'Andra, dans la Meuse, France (afin d'étudier l'implantation d'un centre de stockage profond pour les déchets dits de haute activité (HA) et de moyenne activité à vie longue (MA-VL)). Il s'agit d'une roche sédimentaire, compacte et imperméable, de couleur grise, de la période jurassique callovien-oxfordien, datant d'environ – 165 Ma.
English: This claystone comes from the Underground Research Laboratory sited at Bure in the Meuse district, France, aiming at studying the feasibility of the reversible geological disposal of high-level and long-lived intermediate-level radioactive waste. It is a Callovo-Oxfordian Jurassic marine sedimentary rock formation, grey, about – 165 Ma.
