For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.  VEB Robotron Elektronik Dresden, Computer EC 1040
ADN-ZB Häßler 24.10.77 Dresden: 60. Jahrestag-Rechner der 3. Generation mit einer Geschwindigkeit vom 380.000 (380 000) Operationen pro Sekunde werden von den Werktätigen des Kombinats Robotron Dresden hergestellt. Hier testen die Prüffeldingenieure Helmfried Hausmann (l) und Gerhard Sebald die Zentraleinheit für einen Rechner vom Typ EC 1040. die 60. EDV-Anlage dieses Typs wurde kürzlich drei Wochen vorfristig an die sowjetischen Abnehmer übergeben. Seit Jahren bewähren sich diese Rechner u.a. im Vereinigten Kernforschungsinstitut in Dubna, im Automobilwerk an der Kama und in vielen anderen Betrieben. |
