Description
English: Bovicola female, ventral. Genus characteristics: 1- Head is short and blunt. 2- Antennae have three segments. 3- Legs have a single claw. 4- Abdomen has spiracles on the edge of the dorsal surface of segments 2 to 7. 5- Abdomen segments bear one row of short or medium setae, and other groups of setae. 6- Bands of brown sclerotization are distinct on abdominal segments. Inset: typical position of louse gripping host hair with its mouthparts. Also: body is small and light red/brown.
