Arrowhead is a water-loving plant. You can find it in ponds, or on the banks of rivers. The flowers have three white petals that are almost circles. The name "arrowhead" comes from the shape of the leaves. The roots of this plant are edible, and were once harvested by the Native Americans. They would wade out into the water barefooted and use their toes to dig up the roots. Once the roots were freed from the mud, they would float to the surface where they could be easily picked up.
