漢字(かんじ)に仮名(かな)を振(ふ)る

If the symbols appear as blank boxes, garbage, or question marks (?), your web browser needs to be configured for computing in Japanese. The second box demonstrates furigana (small kana adjacent to kanji) to show the reading capabilities of your browser. We recommend using a larger than average font setting to make the furigana easily legible. If you are using a Mozilla-based browser (such as Netscape or Firefox) you can download an extension to display the "ruby text" used above.
