The Computer Revolution/Internet/VoIP

VoIP edit

Voip is the method in which the internet can carry voice transmission from one source to another. These may include PC to PC in which two computers use microphones. Another idea is PC to phone. Anyone can call from a personal PC to any phone line anywhere in the world.

How VoIP Works

VoIP is the process of placing phone calls over the Internet. One example of this is a computer to computer call via the “Skype” service, which allows you to connect and talk with someone from another computer. Vonage is a VoIP provider which is a permanent setup designed to take the place of traditional landline phones. One advantage of this type of service is that it is low cost. The big disadvantage, is that it cannot function during a power outage, or if your Internet connection goes down.
