Solved Question Papers - IIT JEE/MathsQP1996
At 46°C a sample of ammonia gas exerts a pressure of 5.3 atm. What is the pressure when the volume of the gas is reduced to one-tenth (0.10) of the original value at the same temperature?
Sol: T=46+273 =319K P1=5.3atm V1=V v2=0.10V P2=?
P1V1=P2V2
P2=P1V1/V2
P2=5.3*V/0.10V
P2=53L
ANSWER IS 53L
