Semiconductors/FET

This page is going to talk about Field Effect Transistors, how they are made, how they operate, and what are their basic characteristics.

FETsEdit

Field effect transistors (FETs) make use of the electric field induced by a potential on the Gate (G) terminal to create a conducting channel between the Drain (D) and Source (S) terminals.

FETs vs BJTsEdit

FET are more stable than BJT more linearity less noise, input impedence is very large, output impedence very low compared to BJT's therefore it consumes less power than BJT's

N and P ChannelEdit

JFET and MOSFETEdit
