RAC Attack - Oracle Cluster Database at Home/VirtualBox Windoze/Install OS

  1. Start the virtual machine. The Oracle Linux install screen will automatically come up. Hit enter to begin the install.

  2. Skip the CD testing by using the arrow key to the right and pressing enter.

  3. From this point on you can use the mouse to navigate. To unlock the mouse and keyboard from the VM, hit the right Ctrl key. Click Next.

  4. Leave English (English) selected and click Next.

  5. Leave U.S. English selected and click Next.

  6. Click Yes when the warning box warns you about initializing the drive and erasing data.

  7. Leave the defaults for the disk layout and click Next.

  8. Click Yes on the warning box about removing Linux partitions.

  9. Uncheck eth0 and check eth2. Click the manually radio button. In the hostname field, type the hostname collabn1.vm.ardentperf.com. Click Next.

  10. Highlight eth0 (without clicking the check box) and click Edit.

  11. Click on the Manual Configuration radio button under the Enable IPv4 support. Type 192.168.78.51 in the IP Address field and 255.255.255.0 in the Prefix (Netmask) field. Uncheck the Enable IPv6 support check box and click Ok.

  12. Highlight eth1 (without clicking the check box) and click Edit.

  13. Click on the Manual Configuration radio button under the Enable IPv4 support. Type 172.16.100.51 in the IP Address field and 255.255.255.0 in the Prefix (Netmask) field. Uncheck the Enable IPv6 support check box and click Ok.

  14. Click Next without setting the time.

  15. Enter the Root Password as racattack and click Next.

  16. Click the Customize now radio button and click Next.

  17. Choose the options listed below, while unchecking those packages that are not in this table and click Next.

  18. Click Next to begin the installation.
