Opening a terminal edit

The terminal is a more efficient way of navigating Puredyne. Opening applications, copying files, checking your settings - you can get around the whole system in a terminal. While our documentation files will concentrate on navigating Puredyne through the graphical user interface (GUI), the advantage of using a terminal is both a better understanding of the system and, eventually, speed. Regardless of whether you will use it day-to-day, there are bound to be times when you will need a terminal.

There are four ways to open a terminal:

  • Click on the Terminal icon   in the bottom toolbar
  • Right click on the desktop and choose "Open Terminal Here" from the context menu
  • click on the main menu icon in the bottom toolbar and choose "Terminal"
  • Press the following key-combination on your keyboard CTRL+ALT+ENTER
