Punjabi

Punjabi, a language of the Indo-European family is natively spoken in Punjab in India, where it is written in Gurmukhi script, and in Punjab in Pakistan, where Shahmukhi, an adapted derivative of Arabic script is used. It is the first official language of Punjab and second official language of many other states in India. It is the largest spoken language in Pakistan even as it lacks an official status there. It is spoken internationally by an estimated 100 to 125 million people and is the tenth most widely spoken language in the world. It has a place of pride in Canada where it is the third most spoken language and in England and Wales where it is the fourth most spoken language.
