Portuguese/Contents/Common adverbs

      Common adverbs in Portuguese

Adverbs are words which modify the meaning of a verb (a word which expresses an action, or something which happens). Most adverbs in Portuguese end in mente - the notable exception being bem, which means "well". Be careful not to confuse this with "bom", which means "good".

      Well - Bem

      Badly - Mal

      Slowly - Lentamente

      Quickly - Rapidamente

      Awkwardly - Desajeitadamente

      Unfortunately - Infelizmente
