Learn to Play Drums/Lessons/More advanced beats

These beats are more advanced than the ones shown in 'A 4/4 Beat' chapter. Once you've mastered those and have practiced a little on your drum set (you do have a drum set by now, don't you?), you can try these ones.

Most of these will involve syncopation (playing between the 'expected' beats).

Sn|----o--o--o--o--|
BD|o--------o-o----|

If that looks hard, don't despair! Just slow it down in your head and play it in slow motion. Keep trying!

Here's another one.

HH|o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-|
Sn|----o--o-o--o--o|
BD|o-o-----o-o-----|

If you want to spice things up a little, try opening the high hat for some beats.

Sn|----o--o-o--o--o|
BD|o-o-----o-o-----|
