Kazakhstan
- The country was a region of the former Soviet Union and became an independent country in 1991.
- All stamps are inscribed “КАЗАХСТАН” or are without country inscription and have Kazakhstani town mark.
- The stamps are grouped according to period:

- A - Provisional issues without country inscription in the frank or with old Soviet Union identification ("CCCP") but modified in a way that indicates the change in status
- B - Inscribed “КАЗАХСТАН”
NOTE: Many former Soviet Union stamps were used without alteration after independence.
