  • The earliest meter stamp seen is from 1969. All stamps have “CAYMAN ISLANDS” or “GRAND CAYMAN” either in the frank or the town mark.

1. Pitney Bowes-GB “5000” (MV), 1970.  [$100]

Horizontal frank with simulated-perforation outer border inscribed “JAMAICA” in top panel.
“GRAND CAYMAN W. I.” is in bottom of TM.
M# with “P.B.” prefix at bottom between TM and frank.
This is a provisional design used before the first Pitney Bowes franks inscribed “CAYMAN ISLANDS” were used.
