- This British Protectorate is in the center of the Indian Ocean. Postage meters are used at a refueling station leased by the United States Navy on the island of Diego Garcia. The stamps are United States types with town mark containing “DIEGO GARCIA”.
- Until 1965 Diego Garcia was a dependency of Mauritius, and a commercial meter of Mauritius was reportedly used during that period with town mark “DIEGO-GARCIA”.
