The Americas underwent a period of great change from the 19th century to 1919.
They advanced both in economic and social areas.
They were further ahead in these areas than they had ever been. Thus, it can be said that they advanced.
They had advances related to money and business.
They also had advances related to people.
Clearly, this was a period of great change and advancements intrinsic to the identity of the Americas.
