Summary

Description
English: United States 2c stamp of 1870; This example has a fancy cancel in the form of a leaf. (Note that this may or may not be an authentic cancel. The stamp is not tied to a cover, and the cancel is suspiciously well-centered and -oriented for something that was usually hastily applied by overworked clerks. However, this type of cancel is not especially rare, and an unused stamp of this type is worth at least 10 times more than if cancelled, so if faked, it was not for financial gain.)
