| Description |
English: Basic elements of a generic PACS. Images from the modalities are sent to short term RAID storage and archived simultaneously. Access to images is enabled through the high speed local area network (LAN) which distributes the images to clinical and diagnostic workstations and to a Web server. (Glossary: NM: Nuclear Medicine; US: Ultrasound; HIS: Hospital Information System; RIS: Radiology Information System; RAID: Redundant Array of Independent Disks). |
