Description

These are views of the grounds, 2 adjacent islands in the river Len in southeast England. This is a truly spectacular location, and we had beautiful weather that day.

'Acclaimed as the most romantic castle in England'. The original was built possibly as early as 856. This has disappeared. A stone castle was started about 1119. Edward I (1270's) rebuilt and enlarged it. Henry VIII spent a lot of money to expand & beautify it. Sunday, August 8, 2004 - Day 6 in England
