Probably the most famous theatre in Canada, the Festival Theatre with its (for its time) daring centre thrust stage replaced the tent used for the first productions. Designed by architect Robert Fairfield, the award-winning building opened in 1957. It's design pays homage to the original tent theatre of 1953. I have seen "King Lear", "Measure for Measure" and "A Midsummer's Night's Dream" here
