DescriptionCayembe Ecuador Launch System Fit to Terrain.PNG
English: Shows the path of a gas gun accelerator barrel vs the terrain between the town of Cayembe, Ecuador, and the mountain also called Cayembe. The gun is assumed to be used for human and sensitive cargo launch. The mountain is the highest point on the Equator, which is why it is selected for a location. To minimize the support tower heights, the barrel is curved upwards. Shown is a single curvature, and segmented curvature. Curvature is limited to 12 m/s^2 centrifugal acceleration, and forward acceleration is limited to 60 m/s^2.
