Biblical Studies/Christianity/An introduction to denominations
Christians meeting together form a church. Two or more churches joining together to form a common administration and teaching could be considered a denomination.
Denominations formed for various reasons, some for geographically reasons, some for political reasons, and others for differences in interpreting the Bible - that is doctrinal differences.
For discussion purposes these denominations are broken down into four basic groups
Eastern Orthodox, Roman Catholic, Protestant, and others.
